Julia Keelan Angley is a writer and filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. Originally from Boston, Julia studied creative writing and digital media on the east coast before relocating to LA to earn her MFA in Film Production & Directing from UCLA.
Julia loves dark comedies, coming-of-age dramas, genre-bending fairytales, and stories about strong women. She is currently developing new narrative film projects and working on her first novel.
Her short films have premiered at festivals such as LA Shorts and Woods Hole Film Festival. She has been recognized with the Motion Picture Association Award (2017), the Norris Foundation Award (2018), and the Edie and Lew Wasserman Film Production Fellowship (2019) for her short film work.
In addition to her own projects, Julia works as a visual effect producer in the Los Angeles area, bringing current industry experience to her storytelling practice.
